Oscar Challenge

What to do?  What to do?  I could go red carpet glamour or I could do a piece inspired by a movie.  I love the pearl necklace worn by Gwenyth Paltrow in Shakespeare in Love.  I could make an homage to that lovely piece or I could do something inspired by Fiddler on the Roof which is the show my 3 kids are currently involved in.  (Never use a preposition to end a sentence with!)  I love GWTW but I would want to make the curtain dress that Carol Burnett wore so that is not exactly the Oscars!

Back to the drawing board for today!

New challenge is up!

And the Oscar goes to....  Yes, the new challenge is to craft something relating to your favorite movie or the Oscars in general.  Movies can be from any time and not restricted to this year's nominees.  That is great news since I have not seen many movies (if any!) from this year!  Lots of room for choice here which I appreciate!

This bracelet has center shapes that remind me of the azaleas that are about to bloom in my home town. I think it is both the color and the shape that make me think of Longview. My hometown is in Texas and I considered doing something with a lone star but that would be my state only. When I think of Longview, I think of how pretty it is in the spring when the azaleas bloom so this bracelet is what I chose to create.

Iron Craft Week 8

This is my first Iron Craft but the rest of the group has 7 weeks completed.  This bracelet reminds me of the azaleas that are getting ready to bloom in my hometown.  They are beautiful!  My hometown is Longview, Texas.  It is deep in the Piney Woods of East Texas.  I have not lived there in almost 30 years but my parents are still there.  Spring, when the azaleas bloom, is probably my favorite time to visit.

New Blog!

Okay - I decided a new blog was in order to participate in Iron Craft.  This allows me to keep the focus on my craft work here and my focus on my faith at my other blog.  You can find my flickr stream here where I have a craft set to keep my images.  I'm so excited!  The little things make me happy and crafting really makes me happy!
