Rule #6

When photographing your craft, finished or not, light matters!  Check out my headband post below and just see the differences in the colors and vibrancy of the ribbon!

Rule #5

Happiness is finding what you need in your stash!  Which means you need to have a stash!  Ok - what crafter doesn't have a stash?  If you're like me, you inherited some of your grandmother's stash plus accumulated plenty of your own.  The key here is to keep the stash under control!  Just enough to find what you need, not enough to be <whispering> 'a hoarder'.

So Rule #5 is keep a stash, but just enough.  Use what you have and don't hoard it!

Craft Rule #4

I have learned something about myself this summer!  I don't really like to follow directions when it comes to creating!  I have been sewing without patterns, making it up as I go.  I'm no expert!  I just want to do what I want to do!  So Craft Rule #4 is please yourself when creating!  If you aren't happy with what you are doing, why would you expect others to be happy with it?  Share your joy, not your frustration!

This crafting thing is about creating joy.  The joy found in the process itself plus the joy in the finished object.  Go have fun! (rule #1)

Rule #3

Rule #3 - Follow your heart.  When crafting, you must follow your heart, listen to the muse.  Lately, I have been afraid of finding my work on one of those sites where others wonder what the heck you were thinking when you were crafting.  But if I am truly following my heart and listening to the muse - it does not matter what others think.  For me, this is a learning process.  Just making myself keep up each week is an accomplishment.  I missed one already but I am determined to not miss any more if I can help it!

Craft Rule #2

Don't stress!  This should be a stress relieving activity for you!  If your craft is causing you stress, you might want to put it down and step away for awhile.  If you allow your mind to ponder on the problem, it may solve it when you least expect it.

New Blog!

Okay - I decided a new blog was in order to participate in Iron Craft.  This allows me to keep the focus on my craft work here and my focus on my faith at my other blog.  You can find my flickr stream here where I have a craft set to keep my images.  I'm so excited!  The little things make me happy and crafting really makes me happy!

Rule #1 - Crafting should be fun!
