The ladies at my church are crocheting hats for Uganda! We will be sending another mission team to Uganda in 2012 (I think!) with these hats.
I used my 13yo son as the hat model so I could share this with you. Unfortunately, 13yo boys are very reluctant models at times. Like today. Anyway, I think you can see the hat clearly. So here you go!

Tunisian Crochet
I found a great tutorial on Tunisian Crochet here. She did an excellent job of explaining just how this is done! In fact, I picked up a afghan hook at JoAnn Fabrics this week and tried my hand at it. This is the result!
I am pleased at how it turned out and already have plans for I can use this for other projects in the works. I think my distortion in the picture above is actually because I scanned the square which puts pressure on it.

Ruffled Sewing Project
I just finished (I think!) my first ruffled sewing project for my youngest DD. This cute skirt was so easy to make and she loves it! Don't look too closely because there are many flaws but I enjoyed making it and she likes wearing it and that is what matters!

And then there were earrings!
I had a bit of leftover denim after making the bracelet and naturally, earrings were needed! Love them with the pearls! Thanks to my oldest DD for being the model!
I think she likes the set.

Rule #3
Rule #3 - Follow your heart. When crafting, you must follow your heart, listen to the muse. Lately, I have been afraid of finding my work on one of those sites where others wonder what the heck you were thinking when you were crafting. But if I am truly following my heart and listening to the muse - it does not matter what others think. For me, this is a learning process. Just making myself keep up each week is an accomplishment. I missed one already but I am determined to not miss any more if I can help it!
Lucky girl? Luck of the draw?
IC12 is up and the challenge is Lucky. A lucky symbol or maybe the word itself. A difficult challenge for sure. Time to do some googling and find either a quote or a symbol or something that will inspire me for the word 'lucky'.
